Focus and Scope

Journal of Current Biomedical Reports (J Curr Biomed Rep) is an open access, peer-reviewed journal which accepts different types of papers in all aspects of basic medical sciences to facilitate and enhance the global exchange of knowledge. The Editorial Board consists of outstanding specialists in biomedical research that guarantee accuracy and quality of peer-review process for submitted manuscripts. We are eager to receiving submissions from all over the world particularly high-quality papers presenting advances in their own research fields. The general fields of interest are the current clinical researches in the fields of Bacteriology, Virology, Parasitology, Mycology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Hematology, Physiology, Epidemiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Nanotechnology, and other related topics.

Peer Review Process

This journal uses double-blind peer review. All contributions will be primarily evaluated by a scientific Editor for suitability for the Journal’s instructions and scope. Submitted manuscripts will generally be reviewed by two or more experts who will be asked to evaluate the manuscript for publication, along with ethical and statistical Editors within a maximum of two weeks. The whole review process depends on receiving the Reviewers’ feedback. The handling Editors will reach a decision based on the Reviewers’ reports. The author can also suggest the names of potential qualified reviewers, but it is up to the editor to accept recommendations. The final decision of the Editors will be notified to the author(s).

Intentionally falsifying information for suggested reviewers such as a false name or email address, will result in rejection of the manuscript at any publication stage.

 

Publication Frequency

The Journal frequency is quarterly include Jan-March, April-June, July-Sept, and Oct-Dec.

 

Open Access Policy

Journal of Current Biomedical Report provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes PKP PN and the LOCKSS system to ensure the long-term survival of Web-based scholarly publications, and to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

 

Editorial Independence

The handling Editor makes the final decision on each manuscript and we strongly ensuring that we keep the editorial decision without the interference of personal, political, or financial interests.

The official partners of JCBR were established as an independent entity that provides educational, health, and medical services to the population. Neither the partners nor their affiliated organizations interfere in the evaluation, selection, or editing of individual articles, either directly or by creating an environment in which editorial decisions are strongly influenced.

 

Ethical considerations

The JCBR followed the indications provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The Journal also follows the guidelines mentioned in the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals issued by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

 

Publish Policy

You will receive an email notification when your proof is ready for review in PDF. It is the authors’ responsibility to check that all the text and data as contained in the page proofs are correct and suitable for publication. We request that authors pay particular attention to the author's names and affiliations since no changes can be made after the publication. The proofs must be returned by the deadline to ensure that the journal can be published on time.

All of the accepted manuscripts will be immediately published online under the “Ahead of print” section until the final publication date.

 

Publication ethics and misconduct

Journal of Current Biomedical Reports is endorsing the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and also the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals in which the highest ethical standards in the conduct of research and other scholarly activities are expected. Any individual found guilty of willful ‘misconduct’ as defined below is subject to disciplinary action by the Editorial board.

 

Definition of research misconduct:

The US Office of Research Integrity defines the following terms in relation to research misconduct:

(a) Fabrication is making up data or results and recording or reporting them.

(b) Falsification is manipulating research materials, equipment, or processes, or changing or omitting data or results such that the research is not accurately represented in the research record.

(c) Plagiarism is the appropriation of another person's ideas, processes, results, or words without giving appropriate credit.

(d) Research misconduct does not include honest errors or differences of opinion.

 

Plagiarism

Any form of plagiarism will not be tolerated. If serious evidence of plagiarism was detected by the editorial team or reviewers in any stage of the article process it be can lead to the rejection of the article. But, if only content plagiarism with a tolerable rate (5-30% plagiarism) was detected, the author(s) may ask to revise their content.

Similarity check for all submitted manuscripts to JCBR is performed by iThenticate plagiarism detection software.

 

Retraction

Editorial team will consider retracting a publication if there is clear evidence of unreliable data or findings, plagiarism, redundancy or duplicate publication.

 

Complaints and Appeals

If you disagree with a decision made by the Journal of Current Biomedical Reports, the author may appeal the decision by providing an email to Editor with a detailed point-by-point response to the reviewer and editor's comments. The Editor will review the peer review process undertaken for the submission. If the decision was made in line with editorial criteria, the Editor’s decision to reject is final. JCBR will acknowledge receipt of an email sent to admin@jcbior.com within 7 business days. Only one appeal is permitted for each manuscript. Final decisions on appeals will be made within 4-8 weeks by the Editorial Board Member handling the paper or the Editor-in-Chief.
In general, an appeal against a rejection decision on a manuscript will only be considered if:
(a) the authors can demonstrate that an error that determined the final decision has been made - by a reviewer or the Editors - during the review
or
(b) if important additional data can be provided
or
(c) if a convincing case of bias in the process can be demonstrated

Article processing charge (APC)

Journal of Current Biomedical Reports provide Open Access and freely available content, immediately upon publication. This is made possible by charging a fixed article-processing charge (APC) for each accepted article since July 1, 2021 (Iranian authors only).

APC will be billed to the corresponding author upon editorial acceptance and before publication. These fees cover a range of publishing services including providing and maintaining online tools, processing manuscripts, connecting with abstracting and indexing services, plagiarism checks, and providing DOI. No submission charges or color image charges exist apart from the APC.

We will consider waivers or discounts in cases of genuine need. Therefore, authors who are not able to pay the APC, are encouraged to contact the journal by sending an email to admin@jcbior.com to explain their reasons. To apply for a waiver please request it after editorial acceptance. A decision on the waiver will usually be made within two working days.

Currently, publication in JCBR is free of charge for non-Iranian authors, and there are no submission or publication charges. Also, there is no fee for using color images.

Currently, the Journal of Current Biomedical Reports published by Pars Biomedical Publisher did not accept commercial advertising for its periodicals, website, and other forms of communication.
